Big Ten and Pac-12 have announced schedule changes for their soccer season in 2020.
Both Power Five conferences will play a list of conference-only games during the 2020 campaign.
The Southeast Conference could also follow suit and play only league games this season.
Tennessee is slated to play Charlotte, Oklahoma, Furman, and Troy in non-conference games. The Vols will also play Alabama and Arkansas for their SEC divisional contests.
If the SEC chooses to have a conference-only schedule in 2020, a list of ten games could be an option. The Vols are slated to host Ole Miss next season and play at LSU in 2022 for their non-permanent Western SEC games. Alabama remains the western opponent of UT’s annual SEC.
Below is one aspect of Tennessee’s agenda for the 2020 conference if the SEC requires member institutions to list their next two non-permanent cross-division opponents for the 2021 and 2022 seasons along with their already 2020 roster.
The timeline features three open dates that can help with free time during the coronavirus pandemic.

Tennessee plans to host Ole Miss during the 2021 season. The Vols are slated to start the 2020 season against Charlotte. Ole Miss is set to launch the Lane Kiffin era against Baylor in Houston, Texas. Tennessee-Ole Miss would be a good matchup for the opening season on an SEC-only schedule.

LSU is scheduled to play Texas at Tiger Stadium on September 12. Tennessee’s 2020 calendar calls for another SEC-Big 12 matchup in Week 2, as the Vols will travel to Oklahoma. LSU and Tennessee, slated for a SEC showdown in 2022, would be ideal for Week 2 of a 2020 campaign just for the SEC.
