To help you navigate Labor Day, here is a list of businesses that are open and closed:

Open

  • Target – Open regular hours
  • Walmart – Open regular hours
  • Kroger– Open regular hours
  • Merchant’s – Open regular hours
  • Movie Theaters – Some movie theaters are open in your state based on coronavirus restrictions. Call to check out your local theater.
  • Zoos – Open regular hours
  • Malls – Most malls and department stores are open. Call to check out your local stores.
  • National Parks – U.S. In some national parks are open. Call before visiting the park.

Off

  • Government buildings – anything owned by the government, such as DMVs and public libraries, are closed.
  • Banks – Financial institutions are usually closed, although ATMs are always available if you need to deposit a check or withdraw some cash.
  • Post Office Fees – U.S. The postal service will not deliver mail on Monday, and U.S. Post office fees are also closed.
  • FedEx – ified fees will remain open with fixed hours, but no delivery on Labor Day.
  • Museums – If you are planning to visit a museum, call to make sure it is not closed. While some museums are open, others are not.
