Wegmans Food Markets, Inc. has issued memoirs for various items on possible Listeria monocytogenes infection.

The supermarket chain recalls its bag containing four pounds of Valencia oranges, two-pound bag of lemons, bulk lemons, a variety of produce-produced seabirds and all restaurant food items containing fresh lemon, a press release from ‘ e FDA shares.
The affected products were presumably sold at Wegmans stores in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Virginia, North Carolina, Maryland, and Brooklyn and Harrison, NY between July 31 and August 7. The grocery store has 103 locations in the eastern United States.

The chain launched the recall after Freshouse Produce LLC of Salisbury, NC, issued a voluntary recall for its lemons and oranges after Listeria monocytogenes were discovered on a piece of packaging equipment. Freshouse Produce supplied Wegmans with the products.
Listeria monocytogenes can cause high fever, headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea. It can be potentially fatal to those with weakened immune systems, or cause miscarriages and even childbirth among pregnant women, according to the FDA.

No illnesses have been reported so far to Wegmans or his supplier.
Those who have purchased the recalled items can return them to the store for a full refund, according to the release.
