“We are scared!” Keanu Reeves filmed ‘The Matrix 4’ in Berlin


Keanu Reeves returned to play Neo this summer on the Berlin set of “The Matrix 4.” He says manufacturers “have thoughtful, effective protocols in place” to keep cast and crew safe from the coronavirus. Reeves speaks while promoting “Bill and Ted Face the Music.” (Aug. 16)

KEANU REEVES: Well, it’s great and an honor. I’m very grateful that I–

be at work. I’m here in Berlin with the sirens, but you know that– there are some really thinking, effective protocols in place, and the rhythm of filmmaking is not really affected or interrupted.

I think everyone loves the project and just really– if you ever get into any kind of situation that needs to be figured out or how do we do this, show that business people are the best. We just– we’re scared. We know how things are done. We are inventive. We think of our feet, and that kind of spirit, friendly spirit of just coming together.

It goes back to “Let’s put on a show.” We got that feeling. “We’ll get some props. We have some things. We’ll carry it out.” And that spirit lives surely and well on The Matrix.
