Before you get into the family business, John David Washington (son of Denzel) was a professional footballer. And to be judged by this fierce, wild and powerful featurette about making Tenet, his athletics was in full force needed on Christopher Nolan‘s time-consuming espionage site with big budget.

As you may know, Mr. Nolan loves practical effects in his movies, and prefers to literally inflate something instead of making a computer to inflate it. Judging by all the stunt work, car chases, gun fights and martial arts references hinted at and deconstructed in this making of video, it seems that he has only increased these impulses and modes of filmmaking. I was, in particular, amazed by the Washington gung-ho to perform as many of the stunts themselves as possible. If this man fights a ton of dudes hand in hand, that’s him. When this man walks through an opera house wearing heavy armor, it’s him. And if this guy literally jumps on a moving truck, it’s him! I can barely walk for ten minutes without feeling out of breath – no choice but to stagnate a stunt king.

Washington and the rest of the cast – including Robert Pattinson, Elizabeth Debicki, en Kenneth Branagh – feel ready for the challenge and thousand, name the movie they fill with images they’ve literally never seen on screen before, and be ready to give what they can to their team. Based on the images and stunts presented in this creation, they have given quite a bit more and more.
