In a five-star review of ‘Imploding The Mirage’, NME wrote: ‘By continuing Wonderful Wonderful’s’ Atmospheric Experiment’ with canyon rock enormity, The Killers have made another brilliant statement of ultra-modern pump, and one probably even more in step with new generations of alt-rock.
“It’s a musical DeLorean: rooted in mainstream Americana, but riding in adventurous horizons.”
The band appeared this week on the cover of NME for a Big Read interview, where they discussed ‘Imploding The Mirage’, the band’s history and recent allegations of sexual misconduct from the backstage by crew on a tour in 2009.
‘I know what bad men can do to women. I would never turn a blind eye to that, ‘frontman Brandon Flowers told NME of the situation, which was the subject of an internal investigation that found “no confirmation” of the allegations.
“I feel excited that we were able to actually find this woman in the end and make sure she was OK,” Flowers added. ‘The most important thing is that there was no attack. That’s just nothing but relief. From what we see backstage, the people we hire and the people in the band, we have never witnessed anything happen. If something like this happened, we would like to know. ”
