Watch the cast of Scott Pilgrim gather to read a table

Hot on the heels of an oral history Unpacking the film’s creation and cult status, Edgar Wright is hypercaffeinated Scott Pilgrim vs. The world It’s ringing on its tenth anniversary with a proper reunion. Only Kieran Culkin and Brie Larson are missing from the central cast of lovers and former superpowers, with Michael Cera, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Chris Evans, Aubrey Plaza and Many more meeting (virtually) for a script reading table.

Launched in 2010, Scott Pilgrim It resembles the anime-inspired look of Bryan Lee O’Malley’s graphic novels, which follows a low performance that must defeat all of his ex-lovers in combat to earn his affection. The combination of that cinematic premise, Wright’s vivid aesthetic and highly engaging young cast, also starred Jason Schwartzman, Anna Kendrick, Satya Bhabha, Mae Whitman, Alison Pill, and Brandon Routh, all of which are available for reading. It made him seem safe, but that was not the case. The film recovered roughly half of its budget, but, like much of Wright’s work, it has only increased its audience over the years.

It may seem strange to read a movie that is remembered mainly for its visual style, but there is a lot of fun here. Schwartzman, for example, wears a shirt with his face on, which is strange and fun, while Evans very good, very happy dog makes some welcome cameos. And then there’s Routh, who, after revealing that he dusted off the exact outfit his vegan Todd is wearing in the movie, Evans asks why he hasn’t aged, an even more powerful compliment to the fact that he is asked by Chris Evans.

More than just a nostalgic blow, reading also serves Water for People, a nonprofit organization that provides clean drinking water where it’s needed. Head here to make a donation or enter a giveaway to win original giveaways from Michael Cera or O’Malley, who spent his time drawing during reading.
