Watch Halsey and Marshmello’s colorful ‘Be Kind’ video

Halsey and Marshmello have shared the colorful new video for their collaborative single “Be Kind,” which the couple initially released on May 1.

The visual image, shot during the isolation of COVID-19, as evidenced by its extensive use of green screen and artificial backgrounds, shows Halsey dancing alongside “Be Kind” in a warehouse department before falling asleep, only to wake up in a landscape inspired by anime. At the end of the video, the singer confronts a robot explorer piloted by a masked Marshmello.

Because the Hannah Lux Davis-directed image was filmed during quarantine, Halsey learned the smart choreography courtesy of Dani Vitale via FaceTime. Halsey was also her own makeup artist for the session.

In addition to the new music video, a couple of new remixes of Jacques Lu Cont and Surf Mesa’s “Be Kind” were released on Friday.

On Thursday, Halsey announced plans to launch her first poetry collection, I would leave if I could, in November. “I wrote a few thousand sentences, but somehow I’m struggling to put one together to sum up how excited I am about this,” Halsey said of the book.
