Brie Larson might be a member of the Marvel Universe, but she’s also very human. And while she’s quarantined, she hasn’t necessarily been the best at keeping up with her workouts … that is, until now.
In a new video posted on his YouTube channel on Thursday, Larson bravely gave fans in his first training session with her. Captain marvel coach Jason Walsh. His intention for the session was quite simple: Since he had not trained since the start of the pandemic, Larson wanted to return to his physical condition and relax with his body while continuing to get results.
“It’s been a while,” he tells Walsh on a Zoom call about what he hopes to get out of the virtual training. “I want to take things easy, be realistic about where I come from, and enjoy it as my mind turns.”

As the duo begins to go through a routine without equipment consisting of movements ranging from sumo squats to butterfly stretches and different variations of planks, it is clear that for a woman who is familiar with the need to be fit for the roles, he is struggling to push through it.
“I can feel my mortality in a way that I haven’t felt in a long time,” Larson tells Walsh, sounding breathless as he tries to calm down before starting again.
It’s a bit refreshing for a celebrity, especially one as famous as Larson, to be real about their physical difficulties. Like everyone else, it takes a while to get back to the beat of things. As the duo begins the session’s cool down period, a sweaty Larson snuggles into a fetal position because, let’s be honest, she just finished her first workout and deserves to feel a little tired. Although she is proud of herself for reaching the goal, she is not so sure that everyone else will do the same.
“It is unclear if anyone is really going to do this exercise with us or just enjoy watching me fight,” he tells Walsh. “If you liked it, if you didn’t like it, save your comments to yourself.” But if you’re willing to take on the Larson Beginner Challenge for yourself, look here for the full workout.
