Seattle – Washington Health officials say the number of people hospitalized for coronavirus treatment has reached record levels.
As of Saturday, 762 people in Washington were receiving treatment for the virus, according to Como-TV reports.
At the Swedish First Hill campus of the Swedish Medical Center in Seattle, 10 coronavirus patients were admitted on Wednesday over a five-hour period.
The hospitalized leaders held a statewide meeting last week to consider strategies to ensure they have room to care for Kovid-19 patients above the hospitalization rate.
Casey Sr., CEO of the Washington State Hospitals Association, says canceling an alternative procedure under consideration to make room for coronavirus patients involves joint and heart valve replacement and some cancer surgeries.
As of Friday, the number of people in Oregon hospitals with confirmed cases of COVID-19 was 412, more than double the number starting in November.
