Washington is making changes to the quarterback, with Kyle Allen replacing struggling Dwayne Huskins, the team announced Wednesday.
Ellen will start Washington’s Week 5 game against the Los Angeles Rams, with Alex Smith acting as the backup.
League sources told ESPN’s Adam Schaefter that Washington coach Ron Rivera had put Huskins on notice during the Sept. 28 meeting, the second-year quarterback said he needed to improve his performance against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 4.
