Warner Bros. Interactive, which includes Rocksteady and NetherRealm, may not be for sale at this time

A new statement from WarnerMedia CEO Jason Kilar could suggest that the Warner Bros. Interactive gaming division, which includes studios like NetherRealm, Avalanche, and Rocksteady, may not be sold, for now. Kilar sent an update from WarnerMedia organization on Friday, August 7, and he gave extensive updates on the company’s future plans, as well as who will lead certain divisions.

In the letter, he mentioned that “Warner Bros. Interactive remains part of the Studios and Networks group.” Speaking to Deadline, Kilar said, “We have a very strong interactive team of about 2,000 software developers who tell interactive stories; the chances of going global with this are also very, very great.”It’s important to remember that this can change at any time and this could just be that Kilar speaks to the gaming division to make it good for potential suitors, but it can also be taken as WarnerMedia appreciates what his gaming division can bring to the company in the future.

Warner Bros. Interactive and its fans have a lot to look forward to in the very near future, as Rocksteady began posting the big reveal of their Suicide Squad game that will take place at DC FanDome on August 22, 2020.

In addition, there are reports that Warner Bros. Games Montreal’s next Batman game will also be shown at DC FanDome, and that it will have the Court of Owls. WB Games Montreal has also gradually released its new game, but no official announcement has been made yet.

In addition to these new DC games, a Harry Potter RPG is also reported in the works.

If the sale went through, a potential buyer would not have characters like Batman or Harry Potter, but they would be able to negotiate licensing, so the studios could continue to develop games based on their favorite IP.

Some potential stakeholders include Microsoft, EA, Activision, and Take-Two.
