Warhammer 40,000 is getting a Left 4 Dead-style cooperative shooting game

Warhammer 40,000: Dark Tide is a new four-player cooperative first-person shooter game aimed at Xbox Series X and Windows PC. Developed by Fatshark (creators of the Warhammer: Vermintide franchise) will be included in the Xbox Game Pass program.

In Dark tidePlayers will take on the role of a group of members of the Imperial Guard, long the disposable grunts of the Warhammer 40,000 universe, under the direction of an Inquisitor. Inquisitors are secret agents, known to root our heresy against the Emperor of humanity. As such, they regularly work with forces such as the Imperial Guard on an ad hoc basis. The stage is deep in a hive city, where zombie creatures roam the halls committing countless gruesome acts.

While the game is clearly inspired by classics like Left 4 Dead, There is also a comical tone in the Inquisitor’s voice narrating the trailer. These imperial guards clearly have no idea what they have signed up for. Something a little less serious than other titles in the gloomy 40K universe would be a good start.
