Voting: Biden, Trump locked in tight race for Iowa


Trump won Iowa’s six election-oriented votes in 2016 by 9.6 percentage points. Voters there have clashed between Republican and Democratic presidential candidates in previous election cycles, with Barack Obama taking over the state in 2014 and 2008.

According to the Iowa poll’s RealClearPolitics Average conducted between October 1 and 2011, Biden is ahead of Trump by 7 percentage points in the general election.

The latest Monmouth poll also shows a competitive race for the Senate in Iowa. Republican Sen. Johnny Ernst and Democratic challenger Theresa Greenfield are both supported by the state’s registered .. percent of voters.
