Virginia Wesleyan University dean resigns after anti-American and so-called ‘anti-Christian’ Facebook post

When asked for additional comment and whether he stood with his words in the post, Evelyn told CNN in an email that he “apologized” and “there’s nothing left to add.” Evelyn did not accept CNN’s investigation into whether the resignation from VW came in response to the post.

Evil’s alleged post, a screenshot of which was originally reported in the Virginian-Pilot newspaper, urged any Facebook friends who voted for Biden or Democrats to unfriend him on social media platforms. CNNA did not view or verify the post independently.

“If you were ignorant, anti-American and anti-Christian enough to vote for Biden, I don’t really want to be your social friend on social media,” the alleged post said. “I won’t take you with me in real life, I don’t want to travel with you virtually. You have corrupted the election. You have corrupted our youth. You have corrupted our country. I have standards and you are not a don. You will not meet them. Please remove yourself. ”

Virginia Wesleyan University confirmed in a statement posted on its website Monday that the university has accepted Evel’s resignation. According to the Vervalian-Pilot article, Evel has been a professor at VWU since 2008.

VWU chief marketing officer Stephanie Smaglow told CNN on Monday that the university “has no additional information at this time.”
