Violence erupted on the streets of Washington, D.C., on Saturday as thousands of President Trump’s death-defying supporters rallied in the nation’s capital for a second round of protests against the results of the presidential election.
There was one person Knife, according to the report Black-clad pedestrians rushed to a group of men wearing helmets and gas masks and threw punches. The men were marching towards Freedom Plaza, where a rally called Million Maga March had gathered. The video of the clash shows a man in a regalia of proud boys with a helmeted group.
Former Trump campaign spokeswoman Katrina Pearson promised the crowd there, “This is not the end, this is just the beginning.”
“We knew that both Republicans and Democrats were against the people,” Pearson said in a fiery speech. “We are on horseback. No one is coming for us. ”
Away from the blocks at the National Mall, Trump’s former national security adviser, Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn, spoke to a crowd of religious activists in his first public presentation since Trump pardoned him two weeks ago.
“We are at a critical juncture in the United States of America,” Flynn said.
“Courts do not decide who will be the next president of the United States,” he added – just hours after the Supreme Court filed a lawsuit in Texas challenging the vote in the swing states. “This is the beginning of a great revival in the history of a nation under God.”
Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-Ten.) Sent a video message of support to the protesters.
“You keep it up,” she told him. “We’re glad you’re campaigning for justice there.”
The rallies were billed as the second edition of the November 14 march, which drew thousands of Trump supporters to Washington – and which erupted into violence hours later.
Five people were arrested Friday night as clashes erupted between arriving Trump fans and defendants, NBC4 reported.
Trump roared Saturday’s rallies in Marine One, circling the roaring crowd twice as he set out on a tour to participate in the annual Army-Navy football game.
“That’s pretty cool.” Flynn said appreciatively as the president flew overhead. “Imagine being able to just jump in your helicopter and go on a fun ride around Washington, D.C.. I love it.”
Trump, meanwhile, spent most of his time issuing angry tweets about the electoral challenges of his establishment in Georgia and Arizona and the Supreme Court’s decision on Thursday – which seems to have diminished his chances of retaining the White House.
“The Supreme Court had zero interest in qualifying for the largest voter fraud ever committed on the United States of America.” Mourning in a post. “75,000,000 votes!”
