Vietnam bracket for typhoon curve, killing 53 people in the Philippines

The state-run Meteorological Agency said on Saturday that 165 kph. Sweat is forecast to hit the central coast of Vietnam from Vamko Hawaii Tinh to Kwang Nagai prefecture with winds of up to (103 miles per hour).

“This is a very strong storm,” said Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc, warning of preparations for its impact in the province of Vemko’s forecast.

Citing the government’s Disaster Management Authority, state media said the provinces plan to evacuate 468,000 people by the end of Saturday.

People affected by Typhoon Vamko were fighting over relief goods on 14 November 2020 in Rodriguez, Rizal Province, Philippines.

Vietnam is prone to catastrophic storms and floods due to its long coastline. The curve will be the 13th hurricane to hit the Southeast Asian country this year, with a series of hurricanes since early October that have killed more than 160 people in natural disasters.

Nguyen Thi Xuan Thu, president of the Vietnam Red Cross Society, said there was no relief for the more than eight million people living in central Vietnam. “Every time they start rebuilding their lives and livelihoods, they are overwhelmed by another hurricane.”

In the Philippines, Coast Guard and disaster agencies scrambled Saturday to rescue thousands of people in Uttar Pradesh after the 21st hurricane hit the Philippines late Wednesday and early Thursday on the main island of Luzon.

On top of the known casualties from the storm, another 52 were injured and 22 were missing, according to Philippine police and military.
