Video shows police officer pulling man in wheelchair off railroad tracks before arriving at train tracks

California police pulled a man out of his wheelchair on Wednesday and to safety, moments before he was crushed by an oncoming train, showed dramatic video of the rescue.

Lodi police officer Erika Urrea and Sgt. Steve Maynard was on patrol in her Central Valley community when she saw the 66-year-old man in his wheelchair, sitting on rails as crossing guards arrived and approaching a train at 8:44 a.m. PT, officials said.

Urrea’s body camera captured the life-and-death seconds as she jumped from her squad car to the pedestrian parked on Lodi Avenue.

“Can you get up?” Urrea asked Frisian.

She grabbed him loose, grabbed his torso and pulled him out of the chair.

“Up, up, up, up, up, up!” Urrea screamed as the Union Pacific train approached.

Urrea and the man fell to the ground as the train slammed through his footsteps.

“I need an ambulance now!” Urrea cried it out.

The man was taken to hospital and Lodi police murdered the brave and heroic actions of Urrea.

“Officer Urrea risked her own life to save another and her actions prevented a tragedy today,” according to a statement from the department. “We are extremely proud of Officer Erika Urrea and her heroism.”
