Video game piracy group team arrests two members


News broke from the United States Department of Justice that two members of Team Jacquard had been arrested. Team Jacquard is a notorious video game piracy group that has been around since 2001. Recently, the team has been selling physical hardware in Nintendo Switch console mode. Each person faces 5 serious charges, including 11 viral fraud and money laundering conspiracy.

Although two key members of Team Xecuter have been taken into custody, a total of three people have been charged. All three members are accused of leading a criminal enterprise that developed and sold physical mods to hack consoles and play video games illegally. The report suggests that Team Zacker’s products were in high demand for playing pirated video games.

Acting Assistant Attorney General of the Criminal Division of the Justice Department Brian C. Criticizing the rabbit group, he said:[They] Made illegal profits over the years. “These defendants pocketed their work by stealing and selling the work of other video-game developers – but also so that customers would have to pay a license fee to play the stolen games,” said Brian More, a U.S. attorney for Washington’s West District. “”

According to the report, Team Jacquard has more than a dozen members located worldwide. We last heard about the lawsuit in May 2020 in two US states: Ohio and Washington. The arrest of Team Jaker has so far been a concern for Washington State, so it will be interesting to see if anything comes up in the other lawsuit.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation and Homeland Security Investigation are investigating the arrest of Team Zacker.
