The official Crash Bandicoot website has given the game potential on an upcoming Switch release for Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s about time.
The game, which serves as a sequel to the Band crash of N. Sane Trilogy, is due to launch on PS4 and Xbox One on October 2, 2020. No official Switch announcement has been made yet, but a mention for ‘Nintendo Switch’ has been found in the source code of the official website.
The Switch’s mention was initially found by Twitter user @SunwerPrower, which points out that when viewing the page, only the confirmed PS4 and Xbox One versions are mentioned. We have researched the source code ourselves to check and sure enough, there is a purchase option ‘Nintendo Switch’ that has not been moved live to the site.
Well, we should stress that this may not 100% confirm the existence of a Switch release – the code may have been copied from another playlist, or it may have just been a mistake – but there is every reason to believe that a Switch version may be in the works.
As you will know, Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy is already available on Switch as well as Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled, and this game comes from the same developer and publisher. You might also remember that N. Sane Trilogy actually launched on Switch a year after the PS4 version did, and Spyro Reignited Trilogy also leaked ahead of the official website, so could we have a similar situation here?
Time will tell, of course, so we make sure we keep an eye out for any official announcements and update you as and when the time comes. Until then let us know if you would like to see Crash 4 on Switch with a comment below.
