Vaccination is underway at the Olyant Energy Center as PHMDC prepares for the expansion

Madison, Wiz. – In addition to testing COVID-19 at the iant Liant Energy Center, Public Health protects selected groups from Madison and Dan County viruses.

Ph.M.D.C. The first-line affiliate frontline health care workers are vaccinated as they lay the foundations for more groups in the future.

As of Friday, public health officials said they had completed more than 3,200 vaccinations at the iant Liant Energy Center. On Thursday, they did just over 600.

“They are very happy,” said Doug Voyageli, chief of operations. “I think everyone realizes this is a long way off.”

Demand for the Covid-19 vaccine is high, and PHMDC is working to keep it going.

“It’s one of our jobs, trying to get as many weapons as possible vaccinated,” Voyageli said.

Right now, the state requires that those weapons belong to health care workers in 1A tires. Employers can complete the survey online by requesting their employees to be vaccinated by PHMDC. Weigelli said they have a system for inviting eligible people for vaccination and working through a long list, which at one point was in the queue of more than 500 people.

“We randomize the names we have and exclude the names we have for the available doses,” he said, adding that the number of vaccinations they provide really depends on what they supply.

Public health can send people to partners like health systems “to make sure we’re using our full potential in Dane County for vaccinations,” Voigley said.

With each vaccination, he said, they become more efficient, preparing to expand as more groups qualify in Tier 1B.

“The next group will be fairly large,” Vogelli said. “We want to make sure we can vaccinate everyone as timely as possible, so we have expansion plans if needed.”

In a media briefing Friday, the Wisconsin Department of Health Services focused on what the near future looks like for vaccine delivery.

“We don’t have to wait until everything is done,” said Julie Williams van Dijk, deputy secretary of the DHS. “It’s like getting on a plane. You don’t have to wait until the group is completely gone before you open the door and let Group B in. “

DHS has not announced exactly which groups will be in Tier 1B. The final recommendations of the State Committee should be made public next week

“We can’t wait until the decision is made to start preparing for the decision to increase access access, and so those plans are ongoing,” said Williams van Dijk. “I think you’ll soon see an expansion into other groups in the same 1B category.”

That means that despite more shots being fired at people’s weapons at the Orient Energy Center, such as police and firefighters, in the coming weeks, public officials are still urging everyone to take physical precautions and safety precautions to wear masks.

“All we have to do is make sure we move beyond this level and move on to the next stage,” Voyageli said. “We hope that by the end of late spring we can really reach out to the general public.” “

Over the next month or so, Voyagili said PHMDC hopes to roll out an electronic registration system similar to the one they have for the Covid-19 test. He added that the community will also have other options for vaccination.
