The new Mac Mini with M1 chip has been available for some time and although the machine impresses with its sleek performance, it is also a cause of problems for some users. More specifically, there are users complaining about Bluetooth connectivity issues with the new M1 Mac Mini.
YouTuber Patrick Tomaso is one of the users who is having trouble using Bluetooth accessories with the new Mac Mini. As he describes in the video on his channel, it is almost impossible to use a Bluetooth mouse on the MM1 Mac Mini as this connection is lost all the time.
According to Tomaso, he has already tried using the Mac Mini with the Logitech MX Master 3 and Magic Mouse 2, but “cut it all together” during use. Also had problems with the Bluetooth connection when connecting the AirPods Pro and other wireless accessories to its head.
Reddit also has other users with similar complaints. Based on one of the reports shared there, the M1 Mac Mini does not recognize the Bluetooth mouse and keyboard at all, making the machine unusable.
I am using Logitech MX Keys keyboard and MX Master 3 mouse. At the very first boot, it will not recognize the keyboard or mouse available for pairing via Bluetooth. I resorted to a wired keyboard and mouse to get the setup. After that I was able to combine the two, and it would work pretty well. However anytime I reboot the machine, I can’t log in because the keyboard and mouse are not connected.
The reasons behind these connectivity issues are unknown as this could be either a software software bug or a hardware defect. Apple Pal has yet to identify the problem and unfortunately, there are no known workarounds for this other than using a third-party Bluetooth receiver.
