US futures head higher after use of plasma treatment allowed, guarantees from WeChat


Futures for the three major U.S. averages average, following the announcement by President Trump that the U.S. FDA has issued emergency use authorization for convalescent plasma for COVID-19 treatment.

Separately, President Trump’s team of private U.S. companies say they can still do business with the WeChat messaging app in China, Bloomberg reports.

S&P 500 futures rise 0.7%, Futures of Nasdaq + 0.9% and the Dow presses 0.7% higher.

10-year Treasury slips, pressing yield nearly 1 basis point up to 0.64%.

Crude oil profit 0.7% to $ 42.65 per barrel as a hurricane and tropical storm hit the Gulf of Mexico; gold takes 0.5% to $ 1,956.40 per ounce.

The dollar index tie 0.2% to 93.08.

In Europe, the Stoxx Europe 600 index is takes 1.4%, UK FTSE 100 Index adds 1.6%, The DAX of Germany profit 1.7% and France’s CAC climbs 1.8%.

In Asia, Hong Kong’s Hang Seng Index closed 1.7%, ahead of Japan’s Nikkei 225 rose 0.3% and the Shanghai Composite increased 0.2%.
