Kanye West’s presidential bid is in trouble after three more states rejected him in November.
West failed to get the vote in his home state of Illinois and the critical battlefield states of Ohio and Wisconsin.
The Ohio State Secretary’s Office ruled that the rapper did not qualify after submitting a petition with false signatures – as in the gift certificates on his ballot paper did not match documents used for petitions signed by voters.
“A signature is the most basic form of verification and an important, honorable security measure to ensure that a candidate strives to be eligible to vote and that a voter is asked to sign a legitimate petition,” Ohio Secretary of State Frank LaRose said. in a statement. ‘There is no doubt that the Western nomination of petition and declaration of candidacy did not meet the required threshold for certification.’

In Illinois, West, which was raised in Chicago, insufficiently valid signatures were submitted by the state deadline, although a judge reduced the signature requirements from 25,000 to 2,500 to compensate COVID who made the process more difficult.
West collected only 1,200 valid signatures.
And, in Wisconsin, he missed the 5-hour submission deadline – by 14 seconds.
West attorneys appealed to the Wisconsin College of Elections – claiming they actually had until 5:01 p.m. to file – but their appeal was denied. It was a unanimous decision by the three Democrats and two Republicans on the panel to keep the billionaire rapper from voting.
West has made the presidential proposal in Arkansas, Colorado, Oklahoma, Utah and Vermont – which have a total of 31 election votes. That’s much less than the 270 needed to win the White House.
And, of those five states, only Colorado is a battle one where West voters could vote for Joe Biden – a concern Democrats have about his candidacy.

Concerns among Democrats were ratcheted up last week after Jared Kushner, the White House senior adviser who also has a hand in Trump’s re-election campaign, confirmed he had spoken to West several times, along with other members of the billionaire long presidential campaign.
“Kanye has been a friend of mine before – I’ve known him for about 10 years,” the president’s former adviser said in a White House press release.
“There are a lot of issues the president has struggled with that he admires,” Kushner said of him.
West announced his independent bid for president in July – and recent reports show that many GOP operatives have made efforts to get him to vote in certain states.
This has prompted speculation that Republicans may begin an effort to seize Biden’s chances by siphoning Biden’s votes to the West.
“We were both in Colorado, and we got together and we had a great discussion about a lot of things,” Kushner said of her sit-down. “He has some great ideas for what he would like to see happen in the country and that’s why he has the candidacy he did.”
Kushner declined to say if he had discussed the presidential campaign in general, but said they ‘had a general discussion more about policy’.

Had he discussed the campaign, it would have been in violation of the Hatch Act, because Kushner, as an appointment of an executive department, is not allowed to do campaign business.
His revelation came after West confirmed on Twitter The New York Times report that he met with the president’s aide in Colorado while they were both in the state at the same time.
