On Thursday morning, the University of Nebraska released a statement about its commitment to the Big Ten. Their full dedication to the conference.
“The University of Nebraska-Lincoln is a full-fledged member of the Big Ten Conference. It is an unparalleled athletic and academic alliance, ”the statement read.
“We have the biggest fans in university athletics. This has been a difficult and disappointing week for the Husker family. We are all looking forward to the day we can rejoice in our student-athletes, on the field and in the arena. ”
– University of Nebraska-Lincoln Chancellor Ronnie Green
– President of Ted Carter, University of Nebraska System
Some of you may be a little disappointed here, as many are hoping for Nebraska to move on to other teams to play football this fall. From what it looks like, that striving is over.
The security that a conference like the Big Ten can give to a school is pretty big. In all honesty, there is a lot to lose and a lot of unknowns if Nebraska or any school would leave a conference at the moment. Especially one as big as the Big Ten. We will update you with more information when it comes.
So, the next step is the preparation for a spring football season. GBR!
