A handful of states have begun offering 300 weekly incentives to unemployment benefits or indicated workers will receive early payments from this week. Others expect help to begin later this month.

Workers from Arizona, California, New York and Rhode Island will receive the first batch of enhanced pay this week, according to state labor agencies. California and New York are the No. 1 and No. 2 states, respectively, in proportion to the number of workers receiving employment benefits.

The state of Connecticut and Washington state aim to provide an early supplement by mid-January, officials said.

Arizona, California, New York, Rhode Island

Workers in California were paid a પૂર 300 weekly supplement as early as Sunday, according to the state Employment Development Department.

However, the first level is only available to 11 million Californians who are receiving regular state benefits or assistance through the federal-state extended period program, which kicks off during periods of high unemployment.

For expanded federal programs “until improved programming comes into place” – the benefits for others will be delayed by about 3 million people, the agency said.

Those federal programs include epidemic unemployment assistance and epidemic crisis unemployment compensation.

All workers in New York and Rhode Island, including those collecting PUA and PEUC benefits, will receive a boo 300 increase with this week’s pay, state labor officials said.

Rhode Island recipients will receive the funds as early as Monday, according to Margox Fontaine, a spokeswoman for the state’s Department of Labor and Training.

Arizona residents have been able to file weekly claims for an additional $ 300 since Sunday, according to Tasya Peterson, a spokeswoman for the state’s Department of Economic Security. Payments began this week with regular benefits for workers, he said.

Connecticut, Washington

In a statement released Tuesday by state Labor Commissioner Gov. Ned Lamont and Kurt Westby, Connecticut labor officials expect to start paying a $ 300 increase by mid-January.

According to information on the state’s unemployment website, the state of Washington expects two weeks of pay on January 15. Banks take a few days to process payments after they are issued, the agency said.

According to spokeswoman Angela Deli-Santina, the New Jersey Department of Labor is reprogramming its systems for a 300 benefit and will begin distribution soon.

The $ 300 weekly supplement follows two others coined during the coronavirus epidemic: a 600-week return of 300 weekly lost wage assistance payments offered by the Carries Act for six weeks from July to the beginning of the week.

While some states were able to deliver that aid quickly, many took weeks – even months – to do so.
