A three-year-old boy in the Bronx was left with first- and second-degree burns after a fireworks shot through his family’s upstairs window, the latest incident detailing what annoyance has become not only the New York City, but in the country.
The boy had been sleeping when he was awakened by fireworks, watching them from his family’s apartment on the sixth floor of Highbridge on Wednesday night, just after midnight. His 17-year-old brother filmed the scene, reports the New York Daily News. Fireworks in the city are illegal.
He can be heard screaming once the fireworks shoot out the window.
“I thought it was a shooting, but it was all fireworks,” said Jesús Rosario, the boy’s father. ‘It was very loud and there were many. I went out and the baby started crying, and he comes out and he’s bleeding.

The young man sustained first and second degree burns to his arms after the fireworks went off.
‘There was a lot of smoke and a lot of things caught fire for two or three seconds. I was mostly scared. I was describing it: ‘Fireworks went in and boom!’ ‘
The 32-year-old father said fireworks have been going on in the area for the past few weeks.
“This is out of control,” said Rosario. ‘This could have been worse. If it were a bigger firework, anyone could have died with it. When I went down the stairs, I couldn’t even get to the car because there was an overturned box that was firing fireworks. ”
The father was able to make the responsible group leave the area once he started yelling at them. Police are looking for a group of four to five men who are said to be recovering fireworks from a gray Ford Fusion that has a Pennsylvania license plate, NBC New York reports.

Their frustrations mirror those of New York and the entire country. New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio recently announced that he was creating a special task force aimed at arresting fireworks vendors and resellers.
‘We want to go after the big fish. We want to go after those who are having the biggest impact, ‘de Blasio said at a press conference on Tuesday. “We know there are providers outside of New York City where a lot of this comes from.”
911 call centers have received 13,215 illegal fireworks calls from the beginning of 2020 until June 21, according to New York Police. Most of those calls, 12,578, have occurred in the past month.
That’s in stark contrast to the 1,007 calls made for the same period in 2019.
But uncertainty about who engages in illegal activity has become a source of anger, with some noticing that even city firefighters are setting off fireworks.
FDNY is investigating an incident that allegedly involved filmed Brooklyn firefighters firing their own fireworks at a Crown Heights fire station on June 16, authorities said in a statement to the Independent.
But outside of New York, people in the cities of the United States have been calling for an offensive against the heavy trouble.
The San Bernardino Police Department in California has been sharing their captured sets on social media, declaring: ‘Our fireworks teams are taking illegal fireworks and taking enforcement action against those who are lighting them. Your SBPD officers will continue to work overnight looking for additional firework violators. ‘

Illegal fireworks were also found to be the cause of a forest fire in the city of Colton, California, on Tuesday night.
“It took six engines and a Battalion Leader to protect the surrounding structures and extinguish the fire,” the City of Colton Fire Department said in a statement Wednesday morning.
No injuries or property damage were reported in the fire.
