Before the 4-3 loss of the A to the Los Angeles Angels on Saturday, the team received a surprise visit from their families … almost, of course.
The A’s fans sent video messages announcing Saturday’s starting lineup on the video board.

Chris Bassitt’s wife, Jessica, daughter Landry and her dog Ansley announced him as the starting pitcher.
It was originally done by the Phoenix Suns, who had family members introduce the starters prior to a game in the NBA bubble in Orlando, Fla.
“It’s great,” Bassitt said after the game. “I think everyone misses their families and they’m home, and they can not come or they’re here and it’s a little different, so yeah, every time you can see your family kind, and I know every one of them. fun with.

The sons of Marcus Semien, Isaiah and Joshua, announced their father in the line-up. A’s manager Bob Melvin was standing next to Semien in the dugout when they were on the video board and Semien’s reaction was just too nice for words.

For Matt Chapman, he saw the names of his teammates announced, but he was not sure who his representation would be to read his name.
