An Odessa native, the satirist Mikhail Zhvanetsky will be buried in Moscow on November 9. On November 8, Zhvanetsky’s representative Oleg Stashkevich informed the Russian “Interfax” about this.

According to him, the farewell will be closed, there will be no mass dismissal “for obvious reasons.”

On the day of Zhvanetsky’s death, November 6, Stashkevich told Interfax that the time and place of the funeral had not yet been determined, and that there would be no dismissal due to the COVID-19 epidemic.

On November 6, Stashkevich explained to the Russian newspaper Podyom that the organization of the funeral in Odessa was not being considered.

“No, it is not being considered. This, of course, is decided by the family. But how can it be buried in Odessa? Now the borders are closed, this is out of the question,” explained the representative of the satirist.

Zhvanetsky’s death was reported on November 6. He was 86 years old. A month earlier, a satirical representative announced that he was completing the concert activitiesbut he will continue to write books.

Zhvanetsky was born on March 6, 1934 in Odessa. He is the first and permanent president of the Odessa Citizens World Club. Zhvanetsky is the author of the books “Meetings in the streets”, “Two years”, “My Odessa”, “Women”, “Odessa Dachas”, “Complete works”. Recently, the satirist lived in Moscow with his wife Natalia Zhvanetskaya and their son Dmitry.
