NSDC Calls Zelensky’s Statement “Unrealistic”
Sergey Krivonos
Office of the President of Ukraine
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s idea of massively mobilizing women and men in the event of a new Russian attack from Crimea is unrealistic, because most Ukrainians are not ideologically prepared for this and are not trained accordingly. This was stated by the undersecretary of the National Security Council, Sergei Krivonos, reports the publication “NV”.
“These (the president’s entourage, – ed.) Tell the president that they are capable of doing it (to massively mobilize women and men in case of a new attack from Russia, – ed.). And we, who went through this And we saw it in our realities, we understand that even if, in theory, we can mobilize women and men, are these people trained to hold weapons in their hands? No. Do these people want to do this? No, “said Krivonos.
According to him, the state should educate the mobilization reserve, particularly ideologically. Furthermore, even in the case of mobilization, people still need to be educated. As an example, Krivonos cited the war between Armenia and Azerbaijan over Nagorno-Karabakh.
“It showed that a small number of personnel in interaction with the teams, with properly planned operations, allows achieving high results. Therefore, a large number of mobilized people will not resolve the issue of the ability to resist the enemy ”, explained the undersecretary of the NSDC.
We will recall, Zelensky in an interview with the publication “Focus” said that in the event of a Russian attack on Ukraine from temporarily occupied Crimea, there will be a general mobilization of men and women.
