The European Parliament supports the reaction of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to the decision of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine regarding the declaration. It is a bill on the extinction of the powers of all judges of the Constitutional Court.

This is stated in the EU Political Report.

The European Parliament is concerned about the decision of the Constitutional Court, which created a legal vacuum in the anti-corruption system, and calls on the Ukrainian authorities to fill this gap as soon as possible.

The EP recalled that the fight against corruption is a prerequisite for Ukraine’s support from the European Union, because Ukraine is committed to creating a fully functioning asset verification system and possible conflicts of interest of public officials.

“We welcome the initial reaction from President Zelensky, who initiated the legislation. We also trust our colleagues in the Verkhovna Rada, who have repeatedly demonstrated their willingness to remain steadfast in implementing the anti-corruption reform agenda,” the EP noted. .

As a reminder, today the president presented a bill to parliament, proposing to terminate the powers of all judges of the Constitutional Court after a decision is made on the unconstitutionality of criminal responsibility for inaccurate declaration.

As RBC-Ukraine wrote, the head of the CCU announced signs of a constitutional coup in the bill proposed by Zelensky.
