President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is initiating consultations with the High Council of Justice to “solve the problem” of the District Administrative Court of the city of Kiev. On the eve of OASK issued a decree on the removal of NABU director Artem Sytnik.
The president made this decision in response to an electronic petition for a bill to liquidate the UASC. He obtained 25 thousand votes. Reports from the press service of the Presidency.

The author of the petition wanted to guarantee citizens’ rights to a fair trial and also pointed to deep-seated corruption in the court.
How Zelensky Reacted
Zelensky noted that the procedure for the creation and liquidation of courts is clearly regulated by law. The court is created, reorganized and liquidated by law. The president presents the bill to parliament after consulting with the Superior Council of Justice.
Therefore, based on the results of the examination of the petition, Zelensky gave instructions to initiate the pertinent consultations with the Superior Council of Justice.
What preceded it
- On the eve of the OASK adopted a separate resolution, in which he ordered the Ministry of Justice to remove from the Unified Register information about Sytnik as head of NABU.
- OASK made a decision, allegedly based on the CCU’s decision. Previously, the court ruled “unconstitutional” the decree of the fifth president Petro Poroshenko on the appointment of Sytnik.
- OASK also sent an order to the RRB to start a criminal case. It is about non-compliance with the decision of the Constitutional Court of Sytnik.
- The Justice Ministry noted that they will not carry out UASK’s decision to dismiss Sytnik as they do not have such powers.
- Zelensky and NABU noted that the OASK’s decision will be appealed.
