The head of state visited the Desna Ground Forces training center, where he got acquainted with the work of the simulator to train specialists in air defense. Today it is the only simulator of this level in the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

On the Day of the Ground Forces of Ukraine, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy visited the Desna 169 training center, named after Prince Yaroslav, the Sage of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This was announced on Saturday, December 12, by the press service of the Presidency.

Together with the Head of State, the center was visited by the Head of the Office of the President Andriy Yermak, Defense Minister Andriy Taran, Secretary of the National Defense and Security Council of Ukraine Oleksiy Danilov, Commander-in-Chief of Forces Ukrainian Navies Ruslan Khomchak and others.

The head of the training center, Viktor Nikolyuk, briefed the Head of State on the structure of the center and the training system for military personnel.

Zelensky also examined the school’s infrastructure for training snipers, in particular: a modular campus, classes, samples of sniper weapons in the educational building. And on the shooting range, sniper firepower training was demonstrated.

It is specified that on the training base, snipers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine undergo psychological training during training, they master shooting skills from awkward positions, on the move and at different ranges with different calibers.

It is observed that the complex has a material and technical base that is unique to the Ground Forces.

In addition, a commemorative stele was opened on the territory of the Land Forces Command Center in Kiev.

Earlier it was reported that in southern Ukraine, units of the airborne assault troops conducted special tactical exercises to repel the threat from the sea.
