For the 30th anniversary of independence, eastern and western Ukraine plan to complete the construction of a large Zaporozhye bridge, which will link the east and west of the country with a large highway.
The head of state, Volodymyr Zelensky, said this during a working trip to Zaporozhye, according to the Office of the President. In total, “several infrastructure victories” are being prepared for this date, he said. (to see the video, scroll to the end of the story).
“One of them is the Zaporizhzhya bridge. We want to link the west and the east with a large highway,” Zelensky said.
In addition, during his visit to Zaporozhye, the president visited Motor Sich and Iskra companies.
The Zaporozhye Bridge has been under construction for 16 years. It is 9 km long, consists of six transport interchanges, including 27 man-made structures, including two out-of-class bridges with separate structures for each direction of traffic.
Earlier, Zelensky announced a “Big Build” in Ukraine. What it is?
“Big Construction” is a joint program of the President of Ukraine and the Cabinet of Ministers, which provides for the modernization of the infrastructure of Ukraine.
Therefore, the country plans to carry out large-scale construction and reform of schools, kindergartens, hospital admissions departments, stadiums and roads. By the end of the year, at least 100 kindergartens, 100 schools, 100 stadiums, 200 new hospital admission departments and at least 4 thousand km of roads should be built throughout Ukraine.
In addition to the new infrastructure facilities, the implementation of the program should create 150,000 new jobs.
The program began on March 1, however, in February, road works began at 68 sites in 17 regions. A full list of roads on which work has already started can be found on the website of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.
The objects to be built or renovated were determined by the immediate authority of each region. He then coordinated the list with the Ministry of Community and Territorial Development.
Separately, the regions agreed with “Ukravtodor” on a list of roads that are planned to be built under the Roads Fund. The priority is the roads to the emblematic schools and hospitals.
Thus, representatives of the executive branch have assigned full responsibility for the implementation of the program to the heads of the regional state administrations.
Several scandals are already associated with the project. In particular, they wanted to draw funds from the coronavirus fund, as well as the money allocated by the budget for the treatment of cancer patients.
As OBOZREVATEL previously reported, the Ilko Kucheriv Democratic Initiatives Foundation accused the OPU of manipulating survey data on the attitude of Ukrainians to the presidential initiative “Big Construction”.
This is a false claim that allegedly 93% of the public rated this program as the main positive event of the year, but in reality the true figure is 10.5%.
