Vladimir Zelensky communicates directly with Putin
Zelensky has two formats to communicate with the Russian president. At the same time, although communication is limited, it is substantive.
Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky said he has two formats for negotiations with Russian President Vladimir Putin: a four-way and two-way Norman when communicating directly. He said this in an interview with the Slovak newspaper Hospodarske noviny, the presidential press service reported on Wednesday, September 23.
Zelenskiy emphasized that when the need arises, he speaks directly to Putin.
“This helps to find the necessary solutions, which are important not only for Ukraine, but for the whole of Europe. For example, in December last year we reached an agreement on the transit of Russian gas through the territory of Ukraine. This guarantees the energy stability for our entire part of the continent. I spoke with Putin and July 26: on the eve of the establishment of a ceasefire in the east, “Zelensky said.
At the same time, the head of state noted that communication with Putin is limited, but substantive.
“As a perfectionist, I would like more efficiency in our dialogue,” Zelensky added.
He stressed that without a dialogue with Putin, it is impossible to achieve peace in Donbass.
“But on the road to peace there must be a two-party movement, and Russia, which controls the occupied territories of Ukraine, must take the key steps. We would like to see a greater desire from Moscow to accelerate the achievement of peace.” Zelensky said.
He stressed that Donetsk, Lugansk and Crimea are Ukrainian territories where Ukrainians live, and were it not for outside interference, Donetsk, Lugansk and Crimea “normally lived in our unified state system.”
