The delegation of Ukraine called for comprehensive measures to be taken to preserve the general regime of silence.

A regular meeting of the trilateral contact group on the resolution of the armed conflict in Donbass ended after seven hours of negotiations. This was announced on Wednesday, September 16, by the office of the President of Ukraine.

The participants in the meeting affirmed that the ceasefire regime, introduced on July 27 of this year, was respected, despite the occasional bombardment by illegal armed groups.

The delegation of Ukraine called for comprehensive measures to be taken to preserve the general silence regime, in particular through the proper implementation of the additional package of measures.

Particular attention was paid to the implementation of the agreements of the leaders of the Normandy states in format, reached in Paris, to guarantee the full and unconditional access of the International Committee of the Red Cross to all prisoners and detainees.

“The Ukrainian side provides such access in full, which is confirmed by reports on the work of international humanitarian organizations in Ukraine,” the message says.

A clear position by Ukraine was expressed regarding ICRC access to detainees in the temporarily uncontrolled territories of the Donetsk and Lugansk regions, which should be facilitated in the near future.

Discussion continued on the preparations for the next stage of the mutual release of detainees according to the “everyone for everyone” principle. The Ukrainian side emphasized once again that the Ukrainians illegally detained at ORDLO must be released immediately and without political conditions.

“The adoption of laws and regulations is the exclusive competence and prerogative of the Verkhovna Rada”, this is how the head of the Ukrainian delegation of TCG Leonid Kravchuk responded to the statements about the urgent need for the parliament to adopt an alternative resolution on the holding of elections premises in 2020.

“We have always complied with and will continue to abide by all agreements, including the ceasefire,” Kravchuk said.

Recall that the OSCE agreed to provide a representative for joint patrols with the separatists from the Ukrainian positions near the village of Shumy in the Donetsk region. This was the condition of the Ukrainian side.
