Volodymyr Zelenskyy quickly signed a law to increase the minimum wage
The president implemented this law in order to improve the quality of life of citizens by increasing the income of the workforce, noted the OP.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed a law to increase the minimum wage to 5000 UAH from September 1, 2020. This was reported on the website of the head of state on Saturday, August 29.
“President Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed the Law on Amendments to the Law of Ukraine on the State Budget of Ukraine for 2020 No. 822, which the parliament adopted in an extraordinary session on August 25,” the statement said.
It is observed that the President initiated this law in order to improve the quality of life of citizens by increasing the income of the workforce.
The Presidency also recalled that the increase in the “minimum wage” in September this year is the first stage, the second will be an increase from 2021 to 6 thousand hryvnia, and during 2021 the minimum wage should rise to 6.5 thousand hryvnia.
At the same time, taking into account the growth of the minimum wage, on August 26, the Cabinet of Ministers made the decision to increase the official salary (tariff rate) of an employee of the first tariff category of the unified tariff scale of categories and coefficients for the remuneration of workers in the public sector in 2225 hryvnia from September 1, 2020.
Earlier on Saturday, it became known that the head of the Verkhovna Rada, Dmitry Razumkov, signed a law on the increase in the minimum wage and presented this document to the president for his signature.
