Artem Sytnik continues to lead NABU

The Office of the President commented on the bill proposing to allow Sytnik to act temporarily as Director of the Office.

Artem Sytnik cannot be the head of the National Anti-Corruption Office, as he is included in the Unified State Register of Persons who have committed corruption or corruption-related crimes. This was stated by the deputy head of the Office of the President Oleg Tatarov in a comment to the publication. Law and BusinessPosted on Saturday, November 28.

“The root of the problems in the state’s anti-corruption policy is precisely Artem Sytnik,” the politician said, adding that this is his own opinion.

Tatarov is convinced that the current head of NABU has no moral right to hold this position and must leave.

“Various criminal proceedings surrounding Sytnyk are being investigated. Through a court decision, investigators examined Sytnik’s emails and found that he influenced the decision-making of economic courts in the interest of his family and friends,” said the deputy director of the OP.

In this regard, he stressed, a new competition for the post of director of the institution should be held at NABU, taking into account exclusively Ukrainian interests.

We will recall, previously, the Cabinet of Ministers supported the bill, assuring the Verkhovna Rada the right to remove the director of the Office. According to the document, Sytnik will exercise its powers until the next head of the department is appointed.
