Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy has limited communication with Russian leader Vladimir Putin. In addition, it has a substantive character.
He spoke about this in an interview with the Slovak publication Hospodarske noviny, reports the president’s website.
Zelensky pointed out that communication with Putin is taking place in the Normandy format with the participation of Germany and France, as well as in the framework of bilateral contacts. It was in the course of direct negotiations that agreements were reached on the transit of Russian gas through Ukraine, as well as on the ceasefire in Donbas, which has been in force since July 27.
“Communication with the Russian president is limited, but substantial. As a perfectionist, I would like more efficiency in our dialogue,” Zelensky added.
We will recall, earlier Zelensky said that dialogue with Putin led to a truce in Donbass and the exchange of prisoners, but it is too early to talk about restoring relations between the countries. According to Zelensky, this is just the beginning of a dialogue.
In August, Zelenskiy pointed out that if there is no dialogue with Putin, there will be no result.
“If there is no dialogue, there will be no result. I understand it very clearly. If there is no dialogue, if there are no phone calls when necessary, there will be no peaceful outcome. I am convinced of that,” he added.
