Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky said he is not holding on to power. He said when he was ready to step down as head of state.
He said this in an interview with the BBC.
Zelenskiy said he never “held on to ratings and power.”
“If I cannot end the war, then someone else must come who is able to end this tragic story. A tragic story between our countries,” he said.
Earlier, the head of the President’s Office Andriy Yermak said that Volodymyr Zelenskyy would independently decide on a possible nomination for a second presidential term.
In May, at a press conference, Zelensky said that a presidential cadence would not be enough for him to fulfill all his promises.
In the movie “Zelensky’s Presidency Year”, he said that the war in Donbass would end before the end of his term.
“I am sure that during my tenure we will put an end to this war. I am personally confident. I said I am ready to wait a year, I am ready to work for a year,” he said.
