Zelensky commented on the increase in funding
The head of state demands austerity from all officials and promises to sack them mercilessly for inappropriate spending.
President Volodymyr Zelensky is willing to cut 10% of his office staff if other costs cannot be reduced. This was stated by the head of the Office of the President, Andriy Yermak, commenting on the draft state budget for next year, which provides for a 40% increase in funding for the Office, reported the OP’s press service on Friday 18 of September.
According to Yermak, today the number of employees of the Office of the President of Ukraine is the lowest in the last 10 years (419 with the maximum number of 579 in 2014).
However, according to him, if it is impossible to reduce other expenses, the Head of State is ready for a 10% reduction in the employees of the Presidency.
At the same time, Yermak called the increase in unproductive spending for the maintenance of government agencies during the economic crisis as unacceptable.
“All officials who indulge in inappropriate spending will be mercilessly fired, and every suspicious spending will be carefully reviewed,” Yermak said, adding that Zelensky demands austerity from all authorities.
Recall that the provision of the activities of the head of state and the Office of the President in the draft budget for 2021 increased by almost 40% and amounted to 1 billion 269.1 thousand UAH.
Earlier, the Ministry of Finance explained the sharp increase in funding for the Office of the President because of the disparity in employee salaries.
