Increased quarantine affects the economy
Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky proposes restoring economic support programs. Quarantine activities affect people.
He said this at a meeting to prevent the spread of COVID-19, the presidential press service reported.
“It is important to restore all economic programs and start new ones to help as many people as possible. After all, the epidemic situation around the world affects the economy,” Zelensky said.
According to him, the day off in quarantine and the additional security measures are paying off.
“We must do everything possible to avoid a total lockdown. So far, the statistics show that we can contain the projected growth.”
In turn, Prime Minister Denis Shmygal said that last week the government developed an action plan to support individual companies and industries.
“And this week the Ministry of Economic Development, Trade and Agriculture should finalize the indicators to support certain industries that have suffered from the introduction of quarantine restrictions. The state will support entrepreneurs,” said the head of government.
We will recall, according to the survey of the Sociological Group “Rating”, in mid-November 2020, the majority of Ukrainians are unhappy with the actions of the authorities to combat the coronavirus epidemic. In particular, 35% of those surveyed are satisfied with the activities of President Volodymyr Zelensky; 60% are not satisfied.
Note that, according to a poll by the Sociological Group “Rating”, the opinions of Ukrainians on the government’s decision to quarantine the weekend were equally divided. Half of the respondents (49%) support the same number against.
