Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met today with ambassadors from the G7 (G7) states and the European Union. During the meeting, the parties discussed the situation around the Anti-Corruption Special Prosecutor’s Office and the National Anti-Corruption Office of Ukraine.

The head of state promised the G7 ambassadors to protect the independence of these anti-corruption bodies and ensured that he adheres to the position that all procedures for selecting members of the competition commissions and competitions for the positions of heads of SAP and NABU must be conducted in accordance with the law, in a transparent manner and under public control.
“As guarantor of the Constitution, I am ready to protect and ensure the independence and transparency of the work of SAP, NABU, VAKS in all possible ways. At the same time, I will demand that the right of Ukrainian citizens to see effective work be guaranteed. of these organs, “he emphasized.
We will recall, earlier, the G7 ambassadors appealed to the Ukrainian authorities with an appeal to protect the anti-corruption organizations.
This declaration was preceded by the decision of the Constitutional Court to declare unconstitutional the presidential decree on the appointment of Artem Sytnik to the post of director of the NABU.
In addition, on August 21, Nazar Kholodnitsky was removed from office as head of the SAP and the prosecutor’s office. Kholodnitsky resigned from the SAP of his own free will.
