Zelensky did not say what to do with the inflated prices of regional gas companies.
The president advises buying gas from Naftogaz, since the state-owned company has prices between 30 and 50% lower than other suppliers.
President Volodymyr Zelensky advises Ukrainians to choose state-owned Naftogaz as their gas supplier, whose prices are 30-50% lower than those of other suppliers. The head of state commented on the situation with gas tariffs during his visit to the Ivano-Frankivsk region, the OP’s press service reported on Thursday, December 31.
He recalled that a gas market for the population began to operate in Ukraine since August, and now citizens can freely choose a gas supplier with favorable conditions.
“State enterprises are needed to work in the interest of society, to create profitable opportunities for ordinary people. population.
“Despite the fact that the country has switched to the gas market and the market dictates prices, Naftogaz still has the cheapest prices for all suppliers,” said the president.
Today, more than 50 companies supply gas to households in Ukraine. Depending on the supplier and the region, gas prices differ significantly. For example, the gas price for January 2021 from Naftogaz is 7.22 UAH / cubic meter. m with VAT, while the price of regional gas sales is on average UAH 9.9 / cu. m with VAT. Private providers in different regions sometimes set the price of gas for the population 30-40% higher than Naftogaz.
“We even found a company that offered a 50% higher price than Naftogaz,” Zelensky said.
According to him, Naftogaz will offer the highest number of prices on the market. And it will fight to lower the price, despite the market.
In this regard, Zelensky asked local authorities to explain to people how they can save on gas payments, in particular by choosing a state supplier, as well as using the services of the state Oschadbank to change gas supplier and make agreements. This will save up to 40% in gas.
As a reminder, Naftogaz increased gas prices for heating and electricity in December by 13.5% to 6,103.10 UAH per thousand cubic meters. And in January for the population – by 14% to 7.22 UAH / cubic meter. m with VAT.
January gas prices were published by 55 gas supply companies. Taking into account delivery, in some regions they will grow up to 10-11 hryvnia per cubic meter.
Let us remind you that starting in the new year the cost of gas supply will increase by 80%. Some operators were allowed to triple their rates.
