Zelensky urged the faction to support the early termination of the powers of the current composition of the CCU.

The visa-free regime, as well as Ukraine’s support from the EU, NATO, the IMF and other international partners, are under threat, Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy participated in a meeting of the Servants of the People faction in the Verkhovna Rada and discussed with the people’s deputies the need to restart the Constitutional Court. This was reported by the press service of the head of state on Monday, November 2.

It is indicated that during the meeting, Zelensky asked the faction to support the early termination of the powers of the current composition of the Constitutional Court.

According to the president, if the public’s confidence in the Constitutional Court is not restored, the country will lose the opportunity to receive any international financial aid. In addition, Ukraine’s visa-free regime with the EU, as well as support from the EU, NATO, the IMF and other international partners, were in jeopardy.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that it is impossible to restore anti-corruption legislation without taking the decision to remove the judges of the Constitutional Court.

“Any new parliamentary decision that tries to restore such criminal responsibility will a priori inoperative. It will not even have to be appealed again in the Constitutional Court,” said the president.

Zelensky pointed out that in this case, any criminal charges for violations during the declaration, even after the adoption of a new law in this regard, will be absurd and will not be valid.

“If you vote for this decision, you are going to vote for the people. Otherwise, you protect the judges of the Constitutional Court,” summarized the head of state.

Let us remind you that last week the judges of the Constitutional Court in closed session declared criminal responsibility for inaccurate declaration unconstitutional, which caused a great political and public outcry.

And today it was known that the Supreme Anticorruption Court closed the first case after the decision of the Constitutional Court. This is the former head of the Zaporozhye regional state administration, Konstantin Bryl, accused of declaring false information.
