Ukrainian authorities plan to host the Olympics in 2028 or 2030
The Olympics will be of symbolic importance and will also attract foreign tourists to the country, the head of state said.
Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy says Ukraine’s main ambitious sporting goal is to host the Olympics in the country in 2028 or 2030. On Thursday, October 22, Interfax-Ukraine reports.
“We need to understand what steps need to be taken for this, and to do it very quickly. If it costs a lot, we can talk about unification and hold the Olympics with another country. We need a sports Oscar, we need a goal,” Zelensky said.
The president said this during a business trip to the Donetsk region, when he participated in the inauguration of the Mariupol Ice Center.
