Zelensky called the US sanctions against Russia an existential factor

The deputy head of the president’s office, Yulia Sviridenko, said the United States should impose additional comprehensive sanctions against Russia. He called sanctions an existential factor for Ukraine’s security.

“It would be very nice if the United States considered introducing additional comprehensive sanctions before the end of the war in Ukraine. And they should remain until such time as eastern Ukraine and Crimea are fully under Ukraine’s control again,” Sviridenko . he said during an online discussion hosted by the US Atlantic Council and the Yalta European Strategy.

Sviridenko added that these sanctions should include restrictions against Nord Stream 2.

“This is an existential factor for the security of Ukraine,” added the Yermak deputy.
