Volodymyr Zelenskyy is today on a working trip to Transcarpathia
In the upcoming local elections, Ukrainians will elect the government which, thanks to decentralization, will receive much more money and powers, the president said.
President Volodymyr Zelenskiy believes that the upcoming local elections on October 25 will be perhaps the most defining for all regions in history, due to decentralization. He said this during a speech at the presentation of the Development Strategy for the Transcarpathian region on Friday, September 25.
“I want all citizens of Ukraine to understand: the local elections on October 25, probably for the first time in the history of Ukraine, will be so decisive for the future of each region,” said the president.
Zelensky recalled that in the next local elections, the Ukrainians will elect the government which, thanks to decentralization, will receive many more funds and powers.
“So please do not waste time on October 25 not to regret the next five years,” urged the head of state.
Earlier, sociologists said how many Ukrainians plan to attend local elections. According to them, less than a third of Ukrainians are willing to support the same party for which they voted in the parliamentary elections this time.
