Encounter in Zelensky
The head of state believes that Ukraine’s accession to the European Union is a matter of time, which should be resolved by the end of this decade.
Ukraine’s accession to the European Union is no longer hypothetical and should be decided before the end of the decade. This was stated by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy at a meeting on the European and Euro-Atlantic integration strategy held on Thursday, February 18, the OP’s press service reported.
In particular, during the meeting, the implementation of the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the European Union, its renewal, as well as integration into the EU markets and the European Union Digital Single Market were discussed.
“Ukraine is becoming a country where everyone feels comfortable and safe, and membership of the European Union is no longer hypothetical; it is a matter of time, which must be resolved before the end of this decade,” says the message.
Also at the meeting they discussed the formation and promotion of a positive image of Ukraine in the world.
“Ukraine is an authorized and responsible member of the international community, makes a significant contribution to ensuring global and regional security and stability, actively participates in the fight against new challenges and threats,” Zelensky said.
In turn, Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba said that his department will also protect Ukraine’s rights and interests abroad, preserve the national identity and guarantee the foreign economic interests of the state through economic diplomacy.
They also discussed the provision of international support to Ukraine in restoring territorial integrity.
Earlier it was learned that the EU does not agree to change the Association Agreement with Ukraine. The EU formally agreed to “review” the Agreement, but did not agree to amend it.
As a reminder, in January the EU limited the export of vaccines, but an exception was made for Ukraine.
