The Republic of Turkey supports the prospect of Ukraine being a member of the North Atlantic Alliance and welcomes the recognition of Ukraine as a partner with enhanced capabilities. The Republic of Turkey will continue to help Ukraine achieve the criteria for membership of the Alliance, as well as the compatibility of the Armed Forces and NATO, including through appropriate joint military exercises. We note the importance of joining forces to strengthen peace, security and stability in the Black Sea region within the framework of regional mechanisms and NATO, “the statement said.

It was also decided to create a new dialogue format between Ukraine and Turkey on security issues: annual meetings of foreign ministers and defense ministers according to the “two plus two” formula.
